The scholarships shall be administered in accordance with the following guidelines.
The value of each scholarship shall be paid at regular intervals during the school year in accordance with normal University Policies.
The number and amount of the scholarships to be awarded shall be determined by the SFA Committee, or its successor, and shall be limited to the funds available in the spendable account. Each recipient shall be selected by the SFA Committee upon applications received from the Executive Secretary of the AFLC in accordance with normal University Policies.
Each scholarship is for one academic year only. However, prior recipients are not disqualified from consideration for the scholarships during subsequent years.
In cases where it is determined that the recipient is ineligible for continuation of the scholarship, a replacement may be named. The procedure for naming replacement recipients shall be the same as for the original recipient.
The student’s parent must be an active paying dues member for at least 5 years.
Criteria for scholarship consideration:
A student must complete an Auburn Football Lettermen Club Scholarship Application and submit it to the Scholarship Committee.
A student must have demonstrated academic excellence.
A student must be accepted for enrollment and attend Auburn University.
A student must demonstrate a financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
Scholarship recipients will be recognized as a recipient of one of the following individual scholarships providing they have met the criteria for eligibility:
· Pat Dye Scholarship
· Eddie Welch Scholarship
· Ralph “Shug” Jordan Scholarship
· Robert A. Sammons AFLC Scholarship
· Ralph “Shug” and Evelyn Jordan Scholarship
· Leo and Florence Brooks Scholarship
· Steve Wilson Scholarship
Jack Meagher Scholarship – In honor of the Auburn Football Coach from 1934-1942, his players the “Meagher’s Marauders” initiated this scholarship for grandchildren of former Auburn Football players. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be a natural born child of an AFLC member’s child and must be in good standing. Only one scholarship will be awarded per year.
